In 2016 Richard Thomas joined the company to become McKendry Construction's Operations/Production Manager. With Richard’s expertise and experience we were able to grow our facility and more than double production. Richard’s strengths are detailed programming to meet client’s demands and liaising with production team to ensure the project is on time and on budget. Richard will review construction documents and shop drawings seeking the most efficient method to construct the precast components and look for methodologies to benefit the clients programme and precast quality. Richard is no stranger to large contracts; he has been in charge of multiple contracts with McKendry Construction and previous employers to deliver challenging precast components to numerous Main Contractors.
John McKendry looks after tendering and will provide competitive on time quoting, we spend time ensuring quoting is accurate and are able to give detailed breakdowns of all jobs quoted. We can quote for supply only precast or supply and install.
As we are owner operators we really make sure the product we are sending to site is accurate dimensionally and to a high precast standard, we aim to provide a precast unit that can be installed efficiently to minimise craneage and onsite costs. We are always prepared to meet with clients and main contractors to ensure the installation process is safe and efficient.
Our manufacturing facility is based in Rangiora with 450 square meters of covered specialised steel casting tables to deliver high-quality precast units:
We have an adjustable steel mould for the production of precast stairs, this mould has been developed by McKendry Construction and enables repetitive use meaning savings for our clients.
The casting tables are heated with reticulated water via a diesel fired boiler allowing daily turnover of precast element even in the middle of a cold Christchurch winter.
We have carpentry and metal workshop facilities for efficient and accurate manufacturing of all formwork requirements.
We have an In-house reinforcing steel detailing, cutting and bending facility which allows fast and efficient supply of reinforcing steel to meet our manufacturing demands.
